This smoothie (made from carrot, orange, ginger, & turmeric) is so easy, delicious and refreshing, not to mention extremely nutritious! Easy way to get loads of vitamins and antioxidants in a pinch. Have it first thing in the morning as an energizing drink without the nasty side-effects of caffeine, or as a tasty afternoon snack.
Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C, folate, vitamin A, potassium & even calcium. Remember it's always best to reach for the whole fruit vs. its juiced form. This recipe is ideal as it calls for the entire orange which means you get all those vitamins plus some extra fibre!
The beautiful deep orange colour of carrots comes from the antioxidant nutrient, beta-carotene. Carrots are also an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, as well as vitamin K and the B vitamins.
And last but not least, our favourite super spice turmeric is LOADED with health benefits! Most significant is its high anti-inflamatory properties which help alleviate pain & disease caused by inflammation in the body. This recipe makes getting turmeric super easy with our delicious Winter tea - a warming organic ginger blend with turmeric.
To make this nutritious smoothie, all you need is:
- 1 large carrot
- 1 naval orange and
- 1 cup Winter tea.... And that's it! So simple.
Method:
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Makes enough for one large smoothie, or two small if you feel like sharing :)
